(Emphasize: Using hip power in section 1, Proper crossing in section 1,  Don’t over extend the hips on the crescent kick in section 4, Proper hip motion on the elbow block and back fist in section 4)

One Steps / Self Defense:

  • Hands: 11 - 15 *
  • Feet: 11 - 15 *
  • Self-D: 6 - 10

(Emphasize: In Close in control)

Basics:
Basics from Horse Stance - Spin crescent - Spin hook - Ball of Foot Round kick
(Emphasize: Spin Kicks, Block attacks with kicks)

Weapon:
Staff basics:

Forward spin, double hand - forward spin, one hand - Back Spin, one hand - hand to hand spin, front - hand to hand spin, back - Low Block - High Strike - High block - Outside/inside strike  
(Emphasize: Basic understanding of staff, Control, letting the staff flow/don’t force the staff, )

Overall Focus:

  • Student should becoming more comfortable with using hips, but should still be the main focus at this rank. “A” & “B” hip power
  • Hip motion “C” should be taught and focused on here.
  • Good Control of self
